Ten
Tuesday. Lights out early to awaken at three minutes after six to see that all seems well after last night's lights out maybe too early business. Up to walk to breakfast under clear skies, although the eyes were watering as it turned out to be cooler than I thought it might when setting out. Watered a bit on the way home too. A first for that.
The French toast with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, the restaurant open when I arrived. The one pound over on the scale this morning wasn't really the thought, although we need to keep an eye on it lest it slyly morph into two.
Again, the eyes watering for the first time walking home, the usual set of pictures to discover the switch on the back of the camera had been bumped into video mode from picture mode and so the images were jpegs rather than RAW images and the image dimensions were flatter when I brought them up on the computer. It's happened before, no big deal, but I really do need to check these things when I take pictures. The larger DSLR's are more forgiving.
There's a demonstration (it's May Day, after all) downtown later this afternoon in front of the Oakland City Hall and so we have something to look forward to. The car battery is still charging and will continue to charge well into the afternoon and evening, but then it will be done and the car will again be up and running. Here's to up and running.
Later. Camera in the backpack waiting on a bus to arrive, wondering if the City Center area was filled with demonstrators and, if so, how far it would have to go in detouring around it. The bus was late, but went straight to the City Center stop and so out the door to take out the camera and start shooting pictures for an hour and a half.
The Oakland port longshoremen (and women) had taken the day off and so were present in large numbers, but so were many others, this the worldwide workers day celebrated by all the so-called more radical elements in the workers movement. Which makes for more interesting pictures.
Quite tired after that hour and a half and so took the bus at four-twenty to the burger drive-in and picked up another grilled chicken sandwich to take home for dinner, climbing my hill more slowly than I care to remember, tired enough I didn't spend too much time processing today's pictures.
Evening. Nothing on television, tried starting the Doc Martin episode at seven, but soon bailed to take a bath and then head to bed. Another lights out early, was the thought, but didn't really turn the radio off until after the six minutes news at ten.
