Friday. To sleep at a decent reasonably early hour to awaken then for good at twenty minutes to six. OK, too early, but feeling alright and so took my time getting up and setting out to walk to breakfast on a clear morning, the sun again coming up over the hills to the east. Arrived before seven to find the restaurant open and ready for business.
The French toast with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast over the papers, the usual first Friday group meeting at tables in the back of the dining area, out the door and home, taking one or two pictures that didn't turn out, but at least trying to “see” a little better. Ah, well. Home remembering to take the selfie when I got to the lobby, up to post yesterday's entry and think about the coming day.
Later. Finished watching Tijuana, a Netflix English subtitled series about a small weekly newspaper telling truth to power and meant to mirror Mexico's history of journalist assassinations. Interestingly and in many ways subtlety done, not perfect, but worth the effort.
A walk over to the lake thinking to at least get outside, taking one or two (or three) pictures, the sinus-upper palate acting up and putting the head in its too familiar little bubble, cutting short and returning to the apartment and take a pain med to see if that would help. Seems to dissolve after a while with or without the med when inside. I'm thinking, ticket already purchased or not, we may bail on the How Weird Street Faire this Sunday.
Washed the hair while listening to the PBS Newshour, deciding, since the head felt better, to test the head in a bubble thing again with another walk, this time to the 7-11 look-alike for an ice cream sandwich, finding the head clearer, the eyes sharper, albeit not perfect. Certainly better, but good enough to entertain a trip to San Francisco on Sunday? Not sure.
Evening. Watched Knock Down The House, a documentary that follows four young Democratic primary challengers in the 2018 election including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's and her surprise victory in New York City's 14th district. Nothing surprising, but worth the watch.
