Checking
Saturday. Lights out by ten to awaken at six minutes after six, nine minutes before the alarm was set to sound off. OK, good. Up to go through the usual routine, deviating slightly when I realized I'd been charging the small V3 camera's battery yesterday and it was still sitting in the charger. OK, slip the battery into the camera, adjust the aperture and set out for breakfast, not realizing I'd forgotten to put the reading glasses and the phone in the jacket pocket. Hard to read the papers without glasses.
Ordered the plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast. The restaurant owner had loaned me her reading glasses when I mentioned I'd forgotten mine, which was nice of her, but they didn't do much to aid the reading. OK, I've done this before, I'll probably do it again, but two memory glitches by nine in the morning.
Overcast on the way home, snapping a picture of the store dummies displaying their new duds in the window, on by the school, the fitness club and home to take a picture of disheveled hair in the lobby. A somewhat scattered way to start our day, I'd say, but no one's been killed and no small animals inconvenienced in so doing.
Time to stop.
We really haven't begun.
Later. Watched some of the golf tournament on television, thought better of it and set out for the bus, thinking I'd see if I was up for heading to Jack London Square to see what their Cinco de Mayo celebration was about. Checked the posted schedule at the stop. Fifteen minutes too early. Walked back to the apartment, decided watching golf wasn't really what I wanted to do on a sunny Sunday afternoon and so went back to catch the bus again, not backing off this time before it arrived.
Went well, the usual head in a bubble thing, but it not really getting in the way. Nothing much in the way of pictures, the “celebration”, as such, was a single small stage where young children in costume were performing when I arrived. Lots of people, but most of them the usual weekend crowd and vendors. OK, I did get out the door without apparent damage and so back to the apartment as it approached three, not hungry enough to stop to pick something up for a late lunch for some reason.
Evening. I dialed into a web site that displays the Warriors-Rockets score as the baskets were made and they've been close, within under ten points for most of the game, ending in a tie. Interesting to keep glancing at the thing and see how two numbers can get you excited. The Warriors lost in overtime, but again, kept me checking.
