These Days

Wednesday. Awoke a few times during the night, but pretty much went right back to sleep, awakening finally for good at six-fifteen to listen to (what else?) Democracy Now! and then the news that followed at seven before getting up to walk to breakfast under a bright sun. No decision to drive for a change. Good.

Took a picture as I walked by two cars with BugID logos (exterminators?), another of the car that's been sitting parked near the theater with the open (broken?) window now for the last week and finally of another car that had evidently been rear ended in an accident. Nothing particularly interesting in the pictures, but a sign the mood was good and I was at least paying attention.

Arrived at ten minutes to seven, entered the closed off dining room, turned on the lights and settled in as always with the papers. Ordered the plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee again as the weight was up a bit this morning, finishing not all that long after nine before setting out for home to take the usual series of pictures of anything that looked like a flower, knowing it was going to be hard to fit in all of the links to them in a sentence here, the mood good, not tired.

The selfie in the lobby, up to sit at the computer and download today's pictures. Except none of the Adobe apps would load: Dreamweaver, Lightroom or Photoshop. You don't process pictures or write undying prose without them. Took well over an hour messing around before I could get them to recognize the Adobe server and load.

Later. Finished the photo processing and started on this after noon because of the Adobe software delay. The pigeons making their nest or nests in the series of holes that were cut into the bottom of the balcony above mine have been active, although I suspect now there may be only a single pair. The two hang out on the balcony railing when they're not delivering nest building materials and so a couple of pictures that I managed to shoot through the sliding glass door without scaring them away.

Ended up listening to the three o'clock PBS Newshour on the radio while lying on the bed more than half zonked out, the so called clear-headedness of the morning having left, but then feeling better as it approached six. Can't blame it on eating cereal as I haven't yet eaten any cereal, so we'll just say it's a part of the deal: sometimes you think you're clear-headed and sometimes you're not.

Evening. Watched Midsomer Murders starting fifteen minutes after it had begun at eight after burning out on the tablet, went back to bed at a quarter to ten to listen to the BBC News until ten. All in all not a bad day given the way they tend to run these days.

The photo up top was taken at the 2016 How Weird Street Faire with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
