Pile

Saturday. To sleep soon enough last night, although I was aware I was dreaming and so half wondering if I was really asleep. Seems to have been enough though as I awoke at five-thirty and then half listened to the radio until getting up after seven to set out walking to breakfast under overcast skies, arriving to enter the enclosed dining area and settle in at my usual table to start on the papers.

The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee, still watching the weight, finishing around nine and setting out for home taking the usual series of flower pictures plus one of the Grand Lake theater marquee to document its opening Thursday. We wish it well.

On along Grand, the farmers market going strong, the vendors up and running along Embarcadero by the lake.

Home to take the selfie, finish and post yesterday's entry, process the morning pictures and then poop out to lie down for an hour before watching the finish of the third round of the Charles Schwab PGA tournament before finally starting the writing here after five. Where did the afternoon go? Where do all good afternoons go these days?

Evening. The Last Picture Show resonated as a movie I'd certainly heard of before, playing on PBS at eight, but couldn't remember if I'd seen it. Released in 1971 maybe I had, maybe I hadn't. I lasted watching it maybe five minutes before turning it off and going to bed. Still don't remember if I'd seen it before or not. Another addition to life's great unanswered questions pile.

The photo up top was taken at the 2017 How Weird Street Faire with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
