Again

Wednesday. Lights out early and so a decent night's sleep to awaken at five-fifty in time to listen to the KPFA five minute news program before the hour as I got ready to walk to breakfast on an overcast, but not overly cold morning. A decent walk, the attitude good, the restaurant open and doing business when I arrived.

The mushroom and cheese omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast over the papers, the Democrats evidently having done well in a number of contests. The usual walk home, taking another picture of the fast fading flower cluster and as well as one of a new single flower blooming below the Lakeview school. No reason for either. No need for reasons, just take the pictures.

The construction was well underway in the parking lot when I passed, a large dump truck arriving just then to pick up a load. The fixed lens mounted on the small Nikon V 1 camera I was carrying wasn't wide enough to get a proper view of the operation and so, when I'd gone home and finished editing and posting yesterday's entry, I returned with a DSLR with the 24-120mm lens to take a couple of pictures to show what they were up to. Looks like they've been excavating a second larger hole and so maybe construction on the planned residential building really is underway. What otherwise would they be doing this for?

Later. Ran out of one of my vitamin supplements this morning and so used it as an excuse to take the bus downtown to the Rite Aid pharmacy. Any excuse to go out is a good excuse. Vitamins in pocket I walked by the construction site at 17th and Broadway to take but two pictures, the fences covered with canvas making it almost impossible to get more pictures at better angles. Crowded and looking a little dangerous to be working in there.

Walked on to the ATM, crossed Broadway just as a bus arrived and went home to the apartment to take more pictures of the parking lot, the trench they'd dug along the Grand Avenue sidewalk side now visible.

Watched a Law & Order episode I haven't seen before, skipped out on one or two I'd seen before and then listened to the news when it came on at two. I find I'm having trouble listening to Trump's speeches, not particularly for what he's saying, most of the scripted broadcast stuff is fairly tame, but his off the wall crap seems to have poisoned the entire well.

Evening. Made it through Democracy Now!, headed to the bed to watch a movie on the tablet to then get up again and check out Midsomer Murders at seven without any hope I might become interested enough to watch. Turned out I'd not only seen it before, but thought I might remember who'd done the evil deed and so back to bed. Tired, lights out early, no interest in firing up the tablet again.

The photo up top was taken at the Hella Gay 5K forming up at Lake Merritt in September with a Nikon D500 mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
