Lights

Friday. Lights out at the usual time, but an uneven night's sleep, half awake it seemed until after midnight, awakening briefly on and off until morning, awakening finally at five minutes after six. OK, these things happen, up and out the door under clear skies, but what felt to be a somewhat colder morning, the eyes watering more than in the recent past. Arrived before seven, the restaurant open and so settled in at my table and opened the papers. So far, so good.

The two strips of bacon, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, still a pound under on the scale this morning, finishing up as yesterday around eight forty-five, setting out for home and passing another Bird scooter without its steering mechanism head. I wonder if the top is easier to take off than other brands or if the two I've seen like this one is just by chance? On to the 580 Overpass light and the line of scooters by the lake. No one around to include in the picture this time, but such is life.

Home to take the selfie and look at yesterday's entry. Lots of small odd (to me) errors, typos that turn the desired word into another - ‘to’ into ‘go’ - and things like that. Started some few years back, the question in my mind more why didn't I catch it right away in rereading it instead of finding it a day later? Ah, well. (We say that a lot.)

Nothing on the schedule for the day, but the sun is shining on what looks to be a nice day ahead.

Later. Can't say much for the afternoon. The phone failed on me and I spent quite a bit of time trying to find out why online in a chat session with the vendor, ending up ordering a replacement phone as it turned out mine was now too old to receive 4G and the carrier my outfit was using had evidently switched from 3G to 4G this morning. I think. Anyway, a newer model is on the way, it's just that I'll be out of a phone until Thanksgiving.

Evening. Nothing I wanted to watch on television and so spent some time with one or two things on the tablet before heading to bed early again before eight, listening to the radio until nine before turning out the lights.

The photograph was taken at the Portland Zoo in November 2018 with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 24 - 120mm f 4.0 Nikkor VR lens.
