Early
Saturday It did take some time again to get to sleep last night. Comfortable enough, just kept glancing up now and again at the clock. Finally awoke at five-thirty, too early, but pretty much wide awake and so listened to the news before getting up finally at the usual time to drive to the Lakeshore ATM and then over the hill to breakfast, the first to arrive and settle in at my table out on the patio. Clear skies and sun, no rain last night.
The avocado and mushroom omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee, the pull down shades at the front of the awning having evidently been installed yesterday and so the sun that was coming up over the buildings across the street didn't interfere with reading the papers.
About halfway through the meal car horns and shouting erupted out of sight to my left and the diners at other tables on the patio raised their hands in the air and joined in. I couldn't see what they were looking at, hemmed in at my table, and so asked what had happened. Biden had been declared the winner of the presidential race. Oh. Good. Cars continued to honk throughout the morning.
Finished up after nine to walk under a bright sun to the car, take an extra flower picture and drive straight home, arriving to take a scowling selfie before settling in at the computer, slap together and post yesterday's entry, process the pictures and then take an hour long nap. Tired. Started this in the mid-afternoon, still celebratory car horns honking and people shouting in the distance down by the lake.
Later. Some football, some more of an uneven Swedish detective series on the tablet, listened to the Biden and Harris speeches and that's pretty much been the afternoon.
Evening. Nothing on television and so to bed and to sleep early.
