Car

Sunday To sleep fairly quickly to awaken at six in time to half listen to CounterSpin and TUC Radio before heading down to the garage to drive to breakfast, turning the key to have the car explode in a loud industrial vacuum cleaner noise and seem unwilling to move when it was put into drive. I opened the hood, didn't see anything out of place, started it again, same noise, turned it off and walked to breakfast. Have no damned idea what it might be. Depressing. What the hell, started out walking, arrived, sat at my table and started reading.

The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee, finishing up not long after nine to walk home passing by this flower in its planter, photographing the parts of the plant that had been ripped out and thrown against the base of the nearby tree sometime last night. Other flowers farther on were in undamaged planters, but then the bush at the corner that had had portions of it thrown into the street along with knocked over signs and a supermarket basket. Someone, probably mentally challenged, had also kicked over garbage cans, strewing their contents pretty much everywhere. Depressing.

Home to take the selfie and go through the usual routine leading us here. Now what to do about the car? The idea had been to go by the Lakeshore ATM and so maybe it will actually get me out the door to walk to it later.

Later. A walk to the construction site just up the way after avoiding walking to the Lakeshore ATM for two or so hours, thinking I'd see how cold it might be and how I felt when I got outside. There was some progress at the site, but not many given how long it's been since I'd visited, but snapped the pictures and walked back to the apartment to take a nap. Tired. No way I was walking to Lakeshore.

And that's been the afternoon. Futzed with the car a couple of more times. The thought now is that it has something to do with the muffler, although it was still a kind of grinding vacuum cleaner like noise that was loud enough to be scary. I don't know if AAA would be of any use with this, but I'll give them a call, maybe someone could come by and given an opinion. Maybe I can drive it to the dealer's shop, finally get the other stuff it needs to have done, maybe not. Bummer.

Evening. Been tired through most of the day. Watched the first three episodes of The Crown on the tablet than grabbed my attention from the opening scene. Otherwise that's been it for the evening, lights out late, for some reason, still thinking about what in the hell I'm going to do about the car.

The photo up top was taken at the 2017 Oakland Chinatown StreetFest with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens..
