I Had

Thursday. To bed early, up a couple of times during the night, wide awake finally at six-thirty after what seems to have been a decent night's sleep. Out the door and off to breakfast to take another picture through the Grand Fare window. Pretty original stuff. Another picture of the place walking home after breakfast.

More clear skies, more sun. We'll head downtown to the ATM later, need to do that, and take a set of pictures at Latham Square. Maybe think a bit, try a little different route, shoot something a little more interesting and different. Well, think/babble on about it in any case.

Later. To bed and a nap, no ifs, ands or buts. A good hour's sleep to finally get up and out the door at one, remembering I really did need to go by the ATM, but really didn't want to head on to take pictures at Latham Square. Hungry, so maybe hit the ATM, turn around and get a sandwich at the Subway or over at the café by the church.

Got on the bus with the camera in the backpack, went by the ATM and then walked to Latham Square to take the usual set of photographs less the usual shots from the Rotunda building third floor stairwell as they'd taped over the windows. Warm out there in a t-shirt, but then over to the City Center to have a tuna and Swiss cheese sandwich on a bagel with coffee, the coffee tasting a bit off. What the hell? Too hot to be drinking coffee anyway, dump the cup.

A bus to the 7-11 look-alike for an ice cream bar, then on to the apartment house construction site and another set of photographs, now home sitting in front of the fan. The sinuses have been halfway quiet and so none of yesterday's carping, but they now seem to be acting up and another dose of the meds, just in case. You understand. My little particulates in the air warning app on the tablet is saying the data hasn't been updated for my zip code yet. It was high yesterday, not sure if that wasn't yesterday's culprit.

Later still. Best I'd taken the meds. Another session lying down, no sleep, but feeling wobbly and no desire to get up. Maybe I shouldn't have had that avocado and Swiss cheese omelet for breakfast followed by the Swiss cheese on a tuna fish sandwich for lunch. Did it because it sounded good, didn't think about cheese and its habit of kicking off the ocular stuff.

Ocular stuff?

We do go around and around with our ocular this, sinuses that, do we not? A day to day journal that recounts the pills we've taken and the cheese we've eaten, interspersed with the occasional nap.

Not to mention how you slept, changes in the price of gas, upsets with period English television shows and your time on the tablet.

Indeed. Complete with misused commas and spelling mistakes.

Evening. The new Wi-Fi unit arrived late in the afternoon and so, at seven this evening, I opened another Amazon movie on the tablet to see if the download speed was holding up. It wasn't and so maybe this faster Wi-Fi unit will turn out to have been a good purchase. I can think of many ways it won't, other factors involved, but that's the old techie talking, some residual memories still remain of how it really works.

No tablet and so I ended up watching this evening's Midsomer Murders, a two part episode I vaguely realized as I was watching that I'd seen before, but remembered little or nothing about who done it or how it turned out. A complicated, not possible in the real world plot, but interesting enough to keep me up and watching until it was close to ten. Forgot an episode of Vera followed Midsomer, but probably for the best that I had. Needing the sleep, you understand.

The photo up top was taken last Thursday at the Peoples Republic of China 66th anniversary celebration at Oakland City Hall with a Nikon D4 mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
