Long

Friday. A fairly decent night's sleep having turned the lights and radio off by nine-thirty, but awoke to the alarm at a quarter after six to get up with a start and get ready to walk to breakfast on a warmer than yesterday morning under clear skies. Arrived before seven to find the restaurant open and so settled in with the papers, ordering the Eggs Benedict, country potatoes, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast. So far, so good.

Finished up later than usual after nine to walk home under a bright sun to take another picture below the Lakeview school and three bicycle-scooter-skate board riders waiting on the light under the 580 Overpass, but didn't for some reason (I asked myself why I hadn't after I'd passed) take a picture of workers cleaning up the last of the long pile of trash taken from the fire damaged apartment. I've asked this question on other occasions in the past. Not good if you think of yourself as a street photographer.

A photo of the line of seven Lyft scooters by the lake, there'd been ten walking in, and another of the Bird scooter lying on its side with its missing handle bar assembly. Been there now for a few days and I suspect the Bird people aren't able to pick it up on GPS without that head assembly. Just a guess.

Home to take the selfie in the lobby and up to futz with and then post yesterday's entry. Nice day out there. We should at least get a picture of their progress at the construction going on just up my street.

Later. OK, the noon hour, a walk up the street with a camera to take a series of pictures of the construction site. No workers about (the lunch hour), but further progress in drilling holes to place the metal reenforcement units in place. I'm assuming when they're done they'll be filled with cement. A picture of a plane flying in the distance over the project just because before walking back to the apartment.

Evening. Not much to say for the rest of the day, stayed up long enough to almost look at the Inspector Morse episode that started at eight, but decided to go to bed instead. Lights out and radio off by nine-thirty again, the temperature now quite cool, might have to add a blanket before too long.

The photo up top was taken while walking home along Grand Avenue this morning with a Nikon 1 V3 camera mounted with a 10-30mm f 3.6-5.6 VR Nikkor lens.
