Forever

Saturday. Didn't really get to sleep until close to midnight after lights out and radio off before nine-thirty, awakening then at a quarter to six feeling reasonably clear headed as if I'd gotten a good night's rest. Go figure.

A walk to breakfast checking the car battery before leaving that I'd started charging yesterday at one in the afternoon. Still not quite fifty percent charged. Arrived at the restaurant to find it dark, but a light on back in the kitchen and so entered through the unlocked dining area door, turned on the lights and settled in with the papers.

The two strips of bacon, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up just after eight-thirty, the sun bright, the sky clear and a decent looking day ahead. The usual pictures on the way to include below the school, a shot of a line of Lime scooters by the lake and another of that vandalized/damaged Bird scooter again just because. The selfie in the lobby, checked the car battery again and then up to add the evening section to yesterday's entry before posting.

Later. OK, tired, that trouble getting to sleep seems to have had an effect. An hour lying on the bed, a walk over to the lake to see who might be out and about. Not many birds on the lake, some, but not a whole bunch of people on the grass and just a few at the white column pergola where I sat for a while to get some sun before returning to the apartment. The sun was nice, no complaints.

A Yankees vs. Astros game on T.V. for the rest of the afternoon, the Yankees winning. Interesting commentary as the game of baseball seems to have changed since I last paid much attention, the number of home runs, pitching and the like evidently being handled differently in the past. First one I've watched all the way through in some time.

Evening. Little time spent on the tablet, to bed not all that long after eight. Tired and so lights out around nine, nothing much on the radio to listen to on Saturday nights. The car battery is still charging and I suspect it won't be finished by the time I want to drive to breakfast in the morning. Should have started charging a day earlier than I did. But then I knew that when I started it on Friday. Charging it seems to take forever.

The photo up top was taken at the 2018 Oakland Pride Street Festival with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
