Again

Wednesday. Another what I'm assuming was a decent night's sleep, awakening a couple of times briefly, but getting back to sleep again soon after. I think I recall. Awake at ten minutes to six to listen to the five minute KPFA News and then Democracy Now! where they went over last night's Democratic debate.

A walk to breakfast, the sky overcast, the temperature cold. We'll wear a sweater tomorrow morning, we will. Arrived to find the restaurant open and so settled in with the papers, having the two strips of bacon, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast. Interesting to compare how the three different papers and Democracy Now! reported the debate, each different, each stressing one or another of the participants and how they were perceived to have faired.

Finished up before nine, the sky still overcast and so home to take the obligatory flower photograph below the Lakeview school, a lone bicyclist at the 580 Overpass and of the headless Bird scooter that's now been moved to the fence at Grand and Euclid, the Bird people still evidently unaware of where the thing has disappeared to (is my guess).

The selfie in what is now a streaked lobby mirror and up to finish yesterday's entry before posting, most of its bloviation written yesterday for a change. The Oakland Museum Dia de los Muertos exhibit is opening this weekend with the Fruitvale festival two weekends later. I'm hoping to have my head together to photograph both.

Later. Tired this afternoon, a walk finally to the 7-11 look-alike down the way thinking to buy some bean dip and Doritos chips as well as an ice cream sandwich thinking it might clear up these feeling antsy doldrums of the afternoon. Returned home with the loot in hand to discover the can of bean dip I thought I'd bought was a Fritos cheese rather than bean based dip, something I'd usually avoid like the plague, but ate with the chips anyway. So much for an overcast Wednesday afternoon. So far the stomach is fine and there are no signs of ocular anythings coming on.

Evening. Stayed up long enough to look at and then skip the Midsomer Murders episode at eight, nothing else on to entice me to stay and so to bed again by eight-thirty. I worry a bit about getting to bed and to sleep too soon in the evenings, setting me up for awakening too early, but I don't seem to be able/willing to fight it when decision time rolls around. Listened to the news at nine, lights out by nine-thirty again.

The photo up top was taken at the 2015 Oakland Museum Dia de los Muertos exhibit with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
