Dark

Thursday. A pretty good night's sleep I'm guessing. Awoke at six to get up and walk to breakfast, yesterday's walk having resulted in a much reduced ache in the right foot and leg and so a decent walk under clear cold skies, having been smart enough to wear a sweater this morning.

Arrived to find the restaurant open and so ordered the eggs Benedict, country potatoes, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, getting into the papers and not finishing up until ten minutes to nine on this Halloween. You wouldn't really know it was Halloween except for the daily comics where it was a theme.

Set out for home to take a picture on the way of the donated goods store front, not sure why I've not taken its picture before, a couple of pictures first at the Grand Lake theater crossing and then at the 580 Overpass, bicycles and scooters in evidence pretty much everywhere and a picture of the plants they've added to start populating the hill where there'd been ivy covering it before they started their construction.

The selfie in the apartment house lobby, cropped a little differently for the holiday today and then up to futz with yesterday's entry before posting. FedEx says the replacement monitor is out for delivery and so we'll get ready to receive it later, something I'll probably put off doing until it arrives.

Later. Embarrassing. The monitor arrived in good order, but it requires a different video card to work properly and so called Dell and one is on the way. I should have confirmed the card required before ordering the monitor (and - ouch! - checked with B&H Photo to compare prices). Ah, well.

A walk up the way to see how they're doing with the apartment house/condominium construction project to take some very less than perfect pictures. They evidently start early and leave early and so there were no workmen present. Still adding to the reinforced cement columns being set in the ground to (I'm guessing) support the garage and units. Still not quite sure there's enough space for the number I've heard they're building.

Evening. Forgot there was a 49'ers game today, but managed to stumble across it in the late fourth quarter. Haven't really paid attention to football other than to notice the 49'ers now have a 7-0 season. If that means anything.

Watched the beginning of Vera at eight, realized from the first scene I'd seen it before, had no idea how it turned out, but turned it off and went to bed. No sign of trick-or-treaters this Halloween, our apartment house hasn't had any trick-or-treaters in years, although there was a time when other apartments had kids who'd come by and I'd been prepared with candy on hand. Not even a thought it might happen this time around. Is this true for the whole area anymore, too dangerous to be going out after dark?
