Good

Wednesday Up once to take a leak I seem to recall, awakening then for good at six-twenty to listen to the rest of Democracy Now! before getting up and bundling up to walk to breakfast, the sky clear, but colder than it's been so far. Wore the heavier winter jacket for the first time and it was still cold, cold but marginally comfortable sitting out on the patio reading the papers.

The single pork chop, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for the first time in a while, finishing up after nine to walk home under a bright and warmer sun, warmer but certainly not uncomfortable.

The usual pictures, not too many, not too few, snapping whatever caught my attention. Well, snapping the same line of flowers that caught my attention years ago and I haven't varied much since. Still don't have an explanation for this.

Or for describing the same walk to and from breakfast in practically the same terms.

Well yes, but that a given. Arrived home to take the selfie, make it to the bathroom in time to forgo any accidents and settled in at the computer to finish and post yesterday's entry, process this morning's pictures and start with this.

A couple of tasks to complete later and that's about it for this day.

Later. Two boxes of books shipped by UPS, out the door and on their way and that's enough excitement for the day I'd say. An hour's nap around three, the air quality Moderate in the late afternoon when I checked. Maybe stop reading the stream of news stories on the harm these small particles can cause.

Evening. Daylight savings is over this Sunday. Hadn't thought about that, but heard a mention earlier on one of the news programs. I've been wondering about how much darker it's been getting walking to breakfast without remembering that the end of daylight savings was soon coming. Don't like the idea of walking these streets alone in the dark, morning or night, but we gain another hour of light this weekend. Good.

The photo up top was taken at the 2018 Oakland Art & Soul Festival with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
