Minder

Wednesday. Lights out after nine, my lights out soon thereafter, awakening then at six-twenty, right on target. Now if I could reliably repeat that in the future.

As in setting the alarm the way real people do?

OK, point taken. The blood pressure good - 108/71 - and so out the door at six forty-five, arriving at seven to find the restaurant up and running. Overcast, but they're saying sun and a warmer day ahead. Ordered the two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast for no particular reason and finished the papers by eight-thirty.

The usual pictures, one failing to get the scooter handlebars in focus and the background blurred as I'd wanted. Looked OK in the camera, the small focus square on the handle bars seemed tight, but no cigar. The others are better. Nothing new in any of this unfortunately.

Home, the blood pressure - 113/65 - remembering I hadn't written squat after noon yesterday and so patched the entry together as best I could and posted it later than usual.

Later. To bed and to sleep by noon. One of the sparkly blobs appeared and so lied down and went to sleep for two hours, getting up finally just before the PBS News Hour started at three, and so two hours sleep plus a whole lot of time lying in something of a fog.

Watched the news and then back to bed and the tablet to take up again with the rise of phoenixes series, an odd juxtaposition of court intrigue and silly child-level humor (but why is it rated TV-14?). Humor is hard and probably meant for a different demographic than crusty old men with a tablet habit. But I've been watching it and, as the episodes build, more and more often asking myself why.

Evening. Fled the tablet and at least took a look at the start of the Midsomer Murders episode at eight. For maybe five minutes. The blood pressure was - 138/73 - similar to what it was later in the afternoon yesterday and so took another dose of the meds. A week without them and now I've taken them three days in a row. I'm starting to think I might be better off with a minder.
