Tomorrow

Tuesday. Awoke at a quarter to six thinking I'd really like to sleep longer, but up to listen to the five minute KPFA News and then Democracy Now! that started at six, out the door at the usual time to walk to breakfast and arrive before seven, the restaurant having just opened and so turned on the dining area lights and settle in with the papers.

The avocado omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast because that's what finally came out of my mouth when I was asked. No complaints, but odd to be so indecisive so often in the mornings. Finished up at close to nine, this time, heading home under a still overcast and cool sky, catching a shot of the bicyclists under the 580 Overpass when the light changed and documented the laying of cement at the construction site on Grand. When will they ever get that done?

A lone worker at the construction site above the sidewalk near the bottom of my hill, another selfie in the apartment house lobby and up to futz with and post yesterday's entry, the air still cool, the sky still overcast, although it seems to be breaking up now at close to eleven.

Later. A hour's nap, the sun out finally with the temperature in the low seventies and so a walk up the street to take a picture of the back of the building they've been renovating that faces on Grand and where they're planning on building condominium and apartment units in the open space behind it. Can't really see much difference other than the elimination of vegetation and a somewhat smaller pile of rubble in the center of the building.

Evening. Nothing on television again and so some time with the tablet, taking another blood pressure reading at five - 129/77 - and at seven: 132/86. OK, we'll take more readings tomorrow. So far, from talking with the doctor, readings in the 130's at the top would be OK, but I'm not used to seeing them and my experience in the past has been they can go pretty much anywhere up or down, with or without the medication.

To bed again at eight, lights out at nine, radio off at nine-thirty, sleep not long after. We'll deal with all this tomorrow.

The photo up top was taken at the 2016 Oakland Chinatown StreetFest with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
