Early

Friday. Lights out somewhat later than usual, but not all that much later, the blood pressure 127/70 last night, 121/71 first thing this morning and so out the door to walk to breakfast under clear skies, the temperature due to get into the nineties later when I'm at the cardiologist's appointment. Probably should have canceled, as he suggested I cancel if the blood pressure remains low enough without the med, but I have questions and, in any case, it's now too late to back out.

The restaurant open when I arrived and so settled in with the papers (for the thousandth or so time) and ordered the avocado and mushroom omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast when ordering began at seven-thirty, finishing up at close to nine.

The sun bright walking home, a picture of but two bicycles remaining in the Ford Go-Bike rack, it having been close to full when I passed it going in, more construction on Grand at Santa Clara across from the theater and a picture of the now open sidewalk at the construction site near the base of my hill.

Home to take the selfie in the lobby and close all open windows and doors before it got any warmer, the day seemingly starting OK, the head relatively clear, the blood pressure 115/74 when I got home. I'll take the readings with me when I head for the cardiologist's later, get a better (one hopes better) opinion.

Later. They're saying it's ninety-four degrees on television as it approaches six in the afternoon right now and I believe them. A bus to Broadway earlier just before one getting lucky and catching a connecting Broadway bus to the doctor's office with but two minutes to spare.

Talked with the doctor, her blood pressure reading similar to the one I'd taken before leaving for the appointment, so my home meter is probably accurate. Finished up and walked to Broadway hoping to find a bus when one arrived. Great timing for a day as hot as this one, duplicated when I got off at Grand and the Grand bus arrived four minutes later. I bow to the Fates and the luck they've allowed when being outside on this warmer than I'd have wished day.

Evening. Fan at the foot of the bed, a brief visit of the too familiar ocular migraine-like blob when closing the left eye and so to bed by seven. One thing about the ocular migraine episodes, even a very light one that doesn't last very long, is it's easy to get to sleep and so that's what I did. Early.

The photo up top was taken Sunday at the Oakland Pride Festival with a Nikon D500 mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
