Awaken

Thursday. Awakening again at five forty-five to get up, take the blood pressure - 118/69 - going on four days now since I've taken the blood pressure med and head out the door under another clear skies and rather nice morning to arrive to find the restaurant just open and so entered to turn on the dining area lights and settle in with the papers.

Ordered the plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up at twenty minutes to nine, recording the six cent a gallon drop in regular gas prices across from the restaurant and setting out for home, the usual picture below the Lakeview school, a bicyclist waiting on the light under the 580 Overpass and the workers opening the sidewalk at the construction site at the base of my hill. My, my.

Took a picture of what appears to be the crane stored behind a canvass covered temporary fence beside the fence hiding the construction site just up my street (are they now starting on clearing the area in front of the building fronting on Grand?) before entering my apartment building and taking a selfie in the lobby.

Up to take another blood pressure measurement - 122/78 - similar to yesterday morning's measurement after returning from breakfast and settle in to wrestle with yesterday's entry before posting. Not a bad start to a day. I'd say.

Later. A walk up the way to take a look at the crane and its load that's being stored next to the apartment house/condominium construction site fence and take a couple of pictures as well as a picture of the building that fronts on Grand down below, the site now showing changes, the ripped out pile of paneling from the interior of the building gone and workers on the roof. Be interesting to see what's next over these next several weeks.

A walk later to the sidewalk construction site now that the sidewalk has been reopened. Warm out there, into the low eighties on what is now a spare the air day. Right back to the apartment. Fuzzy headed this late morning and now afternoon, harder to focus.

Or write a coherent sentence.

And not being able to type one without making a beginner's mistakes.

Evening. Listened to the Democratic debate on the computer during most of which I sat following the Dodgers game on television with the sound turned off. Followed along without any real effort to hear it clearly, baseball and a presidential run all in one sitting.

Really?

Didn't particularly change my opinion, modified one or two in the listening, still rather not see Biden be the candidate. More of this “interesting” times business I'm afraid.

Watched Vera at eight, suspecting I'd seen it before, but followed along through the accents well enough, the episode not ending until nine-thirty, which meant to bed later than I'd have liked. We'll know if that's going to be a mistake when we awaken.

The photo up top was taken Sunday at the Oakland Pride Festival with a Nikon D500 mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
