Better

Tuesday. Awoke early, around five-thirty, blinked a couple of times and it was six and so up to get ready to walk to breakfast, the sky clear, the air a bit cool. Should have worn a long sleeved shirt under the light jacket. A picture of a plane and its contrail illuminated by the rising sun as well as the line of Ford GoBikes, being curious to compare it with the number remaining when I returned.

Arrived to find the restaurant open, but just, and so entered the dining area, turned on the lights and settled in with the papers to discover I'd forgotten the reading glasses. A real let down, let me tell you.

The Eggs Benedict, country potatoes and coffee for breakfast. The waitress apologized as I was getting ready to leave as she'd forgotten the bring the fruit cup. I'd forgotten they'd not brought the fruit cup, perhaps lost in tussling to read the papers without glasses. Not the best start to a day.

Finished early not long after eight getting in half the usual reading and set out to document the six cent a gallon increase in the price of regular, note the number of Ford GoBikes still in the rack, another photo of a blue flower cluster and the line of scooters sitting along the lake. There'd been four Lyft and four Lime scooters sighted walking in, now three Lime and soon to be one Lyft remaining. Not sure why I need to notice this let alone mention it. City life in this new Scooter Age.

Home, tired, took the selfie in the lobby and went up to futz with and then post yesterday's entry. Again, tired and so went to lie down on the bed and listen to the last half of Democracy Now! that I'd missed after leaving this morning, but went right to sleep. I'll listen to it later.

Later. An afternoon of watching marginal stuff on the tablet and listening to the news.

Evening. To bed by eight, ending up listening to the Giants game as it staggered through fifteen innings, the Giants pulling it out by one run after ten. After ten. An odd day, not the best, although the weather was nice, hoping though that tomorrow will turn out better.

The photo up top was taken at the Oakland Pride Festival earlier this month with a Nikon D500 mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
