Tomorrow
Wednesday I did get to sleep a little early last night, at least I think that's what I remember, awakening just before five and then nodding off to awaken for good just before six in time to listen to the five minute KPFA news before Democracy Now! came on at six.
OK, up finally at the usual time to drive to the Lakeshore ATM and then on to breakfast, settling in at my table around the usual time, one other diner sitting nearby who'd arrived just before I'd arrived. Overcast and wondering at the smoke content, checking the air quality index when I got home to find it was Moderate going on Unhealthy For Some. Not looking good for later.
The avocado and mushroom omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee, the weight just under one fifty-two on the scale this morning, finishing up by nine to head for the car, first heading down the walk to take a picture of the damaged succulent in its pot on the restaurant patio fence before turning back to where I'd parked and driving straight home to take the selfie and settle in at the computer. I'd done close to nothing on yesterday's entry and so scribbled some things to finish it before posting and starting here. The sun is out, the fires are still burning, but all is at least otherwise seemingly well.
Later. Late afternoon and the air quality is Unhealthy For Everyone, a high temperature of eighty-one earlier today with a high of eighty-nine forecast for tomorrow. Oh, and wind along with high temperatures are forecast for the Glass Fire. Best to hibernate inside.
All the news programs focused on last night's debate - “The horror! The horror!” - although, given Trump's history, I wonder at anyone being surprised. Heard enough about the debate after listening to it last night.
Evening. Stayed up and watched Midsomer Murders all the way through. I was pretty much sure I'd seen it before, although the resolution at the end made no sense to me at all. Maybe I'd seen it before, but then (as I often do) bailed and went to bed well before the end. Lights out by ten, let's hope the air is breathable tomorrow.
