Earlier

Wednesday. Lights out before ten, the usual awakening twice during the night, awake for good at six-fifteen. Not bad. Overcast, but they're saying no rain and so a walk to breakfast to have the oatmeal, toast, fruit cup and coffee. Three pounds over on the scale this morning, we're not going to four.

The usual pictures on the walk home, arriving by nine. We'll start again on the still hosed computer. If I can't get it working today I'll consider taking it to the local computer shop, although I'm not sure if they can do any more with it than I have.

Later. I finally figured out I'd ordered the wrong controller and so returned the part and ordered the right one, the correct one going for sixty bucks where the wrong one went for four hundred and the new one from Dell, if they'd had one, was selling for a thousand. This is my last workstation, we'll go for desktops in the future. Maybe that's why Dell doesn't sell workstations anymore. Idiot I. The controller I ordered today arrives on Monday. Or Friday, if I'm lucky.

Walked to the post office and sent the controller back to the seller. I bitch enough about mentally slowing down, but this one has my attention. I have not handled this thing well.

Evening. Watched television for two hours, went to bed and watched the tail end of an episode on the tablet. At least the head is clearer, clear enough to realize I probably should have insured that controller I returned earlier.

Last year's San Francisco Cherry Blossom Festival taken with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
