Now

Wednesday. Lights out before ten to awaken at six-fifteen. Good. Up to set out walking to breakfast under a cloud covered sky, the temperature not all that cold, to arrive before seven and find the restaurant open, as it always is when the owner is the first to arrive.

The avocado and (light on the) cheese omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up by eight-forty, crossing the street to document another change (a six cent increase in the price of regular) in gas prices. They've been going up and down this last week.

The usual walk home, the usual flower picture taken below the Lakeside school, but unexpectedly running into the young woman I haven't seen now in a while coming from up behind and passing me by in the bike lane. Took a quick picture. Walked on wondering if she'd turn around and run another lap when I tripped on an uneven section of sidewalk and went down with a bang on my side. Hurt. It did. Thoughts of old folks falling and breaking body parts. Pain. Got up slowly. The camera wasn't damaged, nothing seemed broken, although I was now limping and aching in various places.

The young woman did return and I was together enough to take another picture before heading up my hill. Most of the aching body parts were better, although the right heel of the hand and wrist were still acting up. No bruises, no real or permanent damage, but a first for falling down. I've thought about it in the past, suspect I'll think about it more now in the future. Aching or not, a selfie in the lobby when I arrived.

A quick finish, edit and post of yesterday's entry, the sky now clear and the sun shining, some exercise in the offing. We'll see whether I accept or not.

Later. Not much to say. A quick trip up the street to see what might be happening with the apartment house/construction site taking a picture, returning and settling in to listen to the mid-afternoon news programs.

The right wrist is still aching. I can type and it eases off if I'm not using it, although it aches extending along the arm when I'm lying down and the arm is extended, placing some pressure if only through its weight on the bed. Still, I'm assuming it will go away pretty soon. Another day or so.

Evening. OK, the thumb and wrist are getting worse and so we'll not do any more typing, maybe just go to bed and find something to watch on the tablet. Right now.

The photo up top was taken while walking home from breakfast this morning with a Nikon 1 V3 mounted with a 30-110mm f 3.8-5.6 Nikkor 1 lens.
