April 13, 2020

Later

Monday. Lights out at midnight to awaken then at five minutes to seven. About right. Up to drive to breakfast under clear skies, arriving to find the restaurant open, but no customers present as I entered, turning on the lights in the sealed off dining area and getting into the papers. Remembered to wear the mask, brought along a pair of disposable plastic gloves, but kept them in my jacket pocket. Hard to eat breakfast wearing them, not sure if that makes me foolish or not.

The two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up after nine, to set out home under sunny skies, arriving home to take the selfie and settle in front of the computer to take care of yesterday's entry before posting and then start here. Two paragraphs, nothing to say that wasn't said yesterday. Maybe to the good.

Later. Wrestled with TurboTax and managed to file my federal and state taxes. Had a problem deleting a form that caused the state taxes not to file, must have spent an hour on it, but finally figured out how to make the needed correction after going through a lot of trouble searching it out on the web. Seems a number of others have had the same problem. A first and one hopes a last for this kind of thing. Still, they're done and both have been accepted so onward, through the fog.

Evening. The taxes and time on the tablet pretty much defined the afternoon. Stayed up long enough to watch maybe four minutes of Father Brown (why do I keep doing that?) before heading to bed and continue watching one or two things on the tablet until the BBC News on the radio at nine, turning it and the lights off at ten, to sleep sometime later.

The photo up top was taken at the 2018 Saint Stupid's Day Parade with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
