Later

Tuesday. To sleep a little later than usual, but not all that much later, to awaken before five, blink a couple of times and discover it was after six. OK, a little uneven, but last night's sleep seems to have gone reasonably well. Up to drive to breakfast, park by the 7-11 store and enter the restaurant dining room as they were putting the tables out on the patio and so settled in at the usual inside table figuring a whole lot of other diners wouldn't show up. Only one came to sit inside by the time I'd finished with only a couple of others opting for the patio. An overcast beginning to the week.

The two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee again, finishing up just before nine to set out for the car and drove to the supermarket for the first time in a year's time, parking right in front (and gambling by not buying a ticket from the meter, what were the chances a meter reader would come by?) and entering the not overly crowded store.

Bought quite a bit of the usual stuff, enough to last for a while, checked out and drove home without getting a parking ticket. Arrived and realized I'd forgotten to buy laundry detergent, the main reason I needed to go shopping. How did I do that? The whole “I've got to go to the supermarket” routine was based on the fact I was going to need to do the laundry this week.

OK, what the hell? Arrived home, got a shopping basket from the laundry room and filled it with the morning purchases, took a frustrated looking me selfie in the lobby, took the elevator upstairs, put the groceries away in the kitchen and returned the shopping cart to the laundry room. Settled in at the computer and started on this. Drive to the supermarket again later? Might. If not today then tomorrow?

Later. Hmm. Checked Amazon. The laundry detergent will arrive tomorrow. Silly not to have thought to do that sooner.

Ate too much this afternoon, but it was all stuff from the supermarket that I haven't had for a while and so no complaints. At least I got the call saying the Protime blood thinner number came in right on target.

Evening. There's been music and singing coming up from the lake since they announced the Chauvin verdict and it has lasted into the early evening. At an earlier time I'd have been down there with a camera to see what they were up to, whether it had to do with the Chauvin verdict or not. In bed by eight, lights out two hours later.

The photo up top was taken at the 2017 San Francisco Saint Stupid's Day Parade with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
