Morning

Friday. The blood pressure was 138/78 at eight-thirty last night, pretty much a mirror image of the reading taken the night before, and so another dose of the blood pressure med before lights out not long after nine. Awoke at a quarter to six and so listened to the radio in bed for a while before getting up at six-fifteen to get ready to head to breakfast (after taking another reading at six-ten: 113/79. Again, similar to what we saw the morning before. I guess I'm on the daily blood pressure med again.

And for how long?

I have not a clue.

Overcast, but not particularly cold, walking to breakfast and arriving again just before seven, the restaurant open and so well into the newspapers before ordering the avocado and cheese omelet (light on the cheese), country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up at close to nine.

I hadn't noticed scooters sitting on any of the sidewalks walking in until I spotted one just beyond the restaurant and didn't notice any walking home until I ran across one sitting by the Highway 580 exit and so a picture. There was a full complement of five by the lake, but that was it for scooters, although there was two or three people riding them that passed me by on the street. A slow scooter Friday?

Who in the hell thinks or cares about this stuff?

There's a million stories in the naked city, my friend. Some are sexier than others.

Anyway, one last picture of what looks to be a now finished sidewalk repair on the two corners at the base of my hill, returning to immediately take another blood pressure reading at nine-fifteen - 108/71 - again, mirroring yesterday morning's taken at the same time, a look at the pollution reading for Oakland on the tablet: 99. One point below hazardous, sixty points below what it was last night.

Later. I did head out the door with a camera in the backpack and crossed over to the lake before turning around and going back to the apartment. So much for outside adventure on a Friday. At least there's the Oakland Chinatown StreetFest this weekend. If I don't go and take pictures I'm, well, I will. We're not totally out of the picture game quite yet.

Evening. Watched too many forty-five minute episodes of a series on Netflix through the rest of the afternoon, another just enough and maybe a bit more of interest counter balancing a frayed at the edges plot, but no regrets. Better than many I've watched.

The usual series of blood pressure readings this evening, 105/58 at eight-fifteen, 112/65 at nine twenty-five, both lower than these last two nights when I decided to take the blood pressure med. Skipped it this evening. Be curious, to say the least, what the reading will be tomorrow first thing in the morning.
