Carping

Thursday. Lights out at nine-thirty, sleeping straight through until ten minutes to six. Nice. You'd think. I think. Up and out the door to walk to breakfast under an overcast sky, arriving to find the restaurant open and with customers inside. I'm still arriving before seven, but haven't found the restaurant dark now in some time.

The avocado omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up after eight-thirty this time, setting out for home at a quarter to nine. I often pass the Ford bicycle rental unit to find maybe one or two bikes out with riders, but this time all but four remained. Varies a lot, but people do seem to use them. On by the Lakeview school, to the 580 Overpass and then home to take the selfie before messing with yesterday's entry before posting. Try for something less messy today?

Later. Another day on the tablet, interrupted by the usual television news broadcasts, although I retreated to the bedroom to listen to the last half of the PBS Newshour on the radio. More an more difficulty in maintaining my interest in what's available on the tablet and on television. Makes me recall my early decades in not owning a television set, not for lack of money, but lack of interest in its fare.

Evening. Checked the Vera episode at eight to see it was one I'd seen before. It hadn't been particularly interesting the first time around and so bailed for bed after checking out the episode of the French series Spiral, this time because I was tired rather than not liking the episode or the series.

The mind had essentially turned itself off without permission by noon and so I gave up on any attempt to continue here. No complaints, it's just what is, we'll maybe one day learn to live with it without carping.

The photo up top was taken at the 2018 San Francisco Anime & Cosplay Festival with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
