First

Sunday. Lights out not long after nine to awaken at six. OK, not bad, better than awakening at five-something and so up and out the door to drive to breakfast under clear skies to arrive at the restaurant before seven, the dining area door again open allowing me to enter, turn on the lights and start reading the papers.

The two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, the weight at exactly the target of one-fifty on the scale this morning, although the one didn't affect the choice on the other.

Finished just after nine and drove to the supermarket (finally!) and bought one or two things to get me in trouble over the holiday. How long have I been putting this off? Weeks, certainly. Still, probably best for keeping me on a marginally healthy diet, what with the spreadable cheddar cheese and sake.

Later. A bath, another hour or so watching a never ending series on the tablet (I've watched fifty-three forty minute episodes of one particular Chinese series so far), listened to the news and ate more than I usually do with the supermarket run. I've been planning on putting off the sake until tomorrow evening, but there's still today's evening ahead and I've found I'm weak in making such decisions.

Evening. Watched some football, watched the two Elementary episode repeats with less than full time attention when they started at five, pretty much skipped out on the tablet and went to bed with lights out after nine. Oh, and I didn't touch the sake, probably a first.

The photograph was taken at the Oakland 2008 Holiday Parade with a Nikon D3 mounted with a 70 - 200mm f 2.8 Nikkor VR lens at 1/250th second, f 2.8, ISO 200.
