Goodnight

Tuesday. Awoke at five minutes to six after a reasonably good night's sleep, I think, getting up to notice Democracy Now! had been replaced by another non-news program of some kind, couldn't make out what it was and so turned to KALW, another local Public Radio Station. The KPFA schedule on the web says it's still slotted at six, so we'll assume it will show up tomorrow morning. Anyway, a walk under reasonably clear skies and a surprisingly warm temperature to arrive before seven, the restaurant having just opened and so sat down and started on the papers.

The single pork chop, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast for no particular reason, finishing up the papers by nine and walking back home under sunny clear skies. They're saying rain again tomorrow and then on Friday through the weekend, so maybe we'll have more sun on Thursday. Home to take the selfie and futz with yesterday's entry, the annual doctor's appointment coming up later at one this afternoon, the doctor's office having moved to Emeryville and so we'll have to drive and find parking. Let's hope there's parking to find.

Later. A drive to the doctor's new location. His web site said there was valet parking and indeed there was for the building and I was surprised to find there was no charge for the service or the time parked when I returned from the doctor's office ten minutes later. OK, might have been fifteen minutes later as I was told, when I arrived, that they'd left a voicemail canceling the appointment yesterday. A voicemail? Yesterday?

Checked when I got home and discovered you have to set up voicemail for it to work on a new phone and, of course, this was the new replacement phone I'd received last week. Indeed, a voicemail appeared when I set it up canceling today's appointment. OK, home, arriving just before it started to rain, we're done for the day.

Watched today's Democracy Now! at four on television. Much of it was live from Stockholm, Sweden. Maybe the program was recorded/broadcast after six this morning and that's why it didn't show up on KPFA. Most of it was focused on climate change: Greta Thunberg and her arrival in Lisbon, the killing of indigenous protectors of the Amazon rain forest and another Swedish teenager who will accept the Right Livelihood Award for Greta Thunberg in Stockholm.

Evening. A clear headed enough day, I'd say, even with the unproductive running around. To bed again by eight, lights out again by nine-thirty to sounds of rain outside the bedroom windows. Not ambitious enough to get up and check. We'll see if it's going to be raining and we'll be driving when we get up in the morning, in the meantime goodnight.

The photo up top was taken walking home from breakfast this morning with a Nikon 1 V3 mounted with a 10-30mm f 3.5-5.6 VR Nikkor 1 lens.
