December 4, 2019

Then

Wednesday. To sleep reasonably quickly, from what I can remember of it anyway, to awaken at five, blink, and then awaken for good at five minutes after six to get up and get ready to head out to breakfast, checking for rain through the bedroom windows and thinking I'd head downstairs and check again outside the door. If it were raining hard enough I'd drive. Found a drop or two, but I set out walking and thinking we'd take a chance on how things were when it was time to go home.

A picture of the line of Ford-Gobikes thinking I'd take a picture when walking back to see how many had been checked out for use, remembering how many there'd been yesterday and I'd wished I'd taken a set of pictures then. Arrived just as the waitresses and another customer had arrived and so to my table and the papers.

The two strips of bacon, eggs over medium, pancakes (with butter and syrup), fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up and heading out the door to find a very light rain, a rain that wouldn't be all that much a problem as long as it didn't get any worse. Hmm. Checked the bus schedule at the stop and a bus had been due three minutes before and, since there were people standing under the restaurant awnings waiting, I figured I'd wait on a bus as well. Take no chances on the rain getting harder.

Waited for five minutes, decided life was too short to spend it waiting on a bus and set out walking, noting only two bikes had been rented from the rack I'd photographed earlier and so wasn't worth another picture. As I approached the bus stop across from the Grand Lake theater a bus pulled up just as I arrived and so on the bus to my stop and back to the apartment, still not raining very hard. A selfie, of course, and then up to post yesterday's wandering entry, remembering they were broadcasting the Judiciary Impeachment Hearing today and so turned to it on television.

Later. Talked myself out the door and to the bus stop after posting, catching a bus to the Broadway ATM and then returning to Grand and Webster on the free bus to wait and catch the regular bus home. A light rain, but nothing to get you too wet unless you stayed out much longer than I did.

Had the Judiciary Impeachment Hearings playing on television and then on the radio while lying on the bed, bailed to watch a Netflix series on the tablet and that's pretty much been the afternoon.

Evening. Nothing on the PBS stations, as they seem to be wrapped up in money raising, and so to bed again around eight, listening to a climate change program from eight to nine, then to the BBC News at nine, bailing when they repeated the news summary at nine-thirty, lights out and radio off right then.

The photo up top was taken at the 2018 Portland Wild Arts Festival with a Nikon D500 mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
