Morning
Sunday. Lights out just after nine and awakening at five forty-five on a dark and overcast morning, taking the blood pressure (142/83 - higher than usual for a first reading in the morning) and preparing to drive to breakfast, getting into the car and turning the key. Dead battery. Drained battery. OK, back to the apartment for the scarf I'd left, thinking when I'd left I wouldn't need it as I wasn't walking and then on the breakfast to find it not as cold as it's been lately. The cloud cover, no doubt, rain due later this afternoon. Arrived to find the restaurant open and so settled in with the papers.
The avocado and mushroom omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee, the weight now over three pounds under the target. Have no idea if that's good or bad. A one forty-five rather than one-fifty target in the future? Seems low after all those years being heavier.
Finished up at eight forty-five to set out on a still dark morning, a slight mist now in the air, passing by the bicycle discarded on the sidewalk now for three days running, another of the flowers in the planter not much farther along, a shot of the three homeless person's tents under the 580 Overpass (not a pleasant thought, homeless at my age or any age), the Lyft scooters by the lake and then home to take the selfie.
Found I'd stopped writing yesterday's entry after I finished the morning session. More thoughts of stopping this daily journal entry business, see if I could spark some of the old enthusiasm for writing.
Lack of enthusiasm?
It seems to keep me happy enough, this business here, gives me something to do while walking back from breakfast, but I'm not at all sure enthusiasm describes it. Like taking the pictures though, although I don't really put much thought into taking them anymore.
Later. The 49'ers/Seahawks game this evening. I was born in Seattle, most of the family still lives in Seattle, but I've been a San Francisco area resident too long now, we'll root for the 49'ers.
Hooked the battery charger to an outlet in the laundry room around one and so the battery should be fully charged by tomorrow evening. It does take time to recharge. Otherwise watched television through the afternoon, football games mostly, the rain arriving as advertised after one. Less rain than the weather people had been forecasting, but enough to keep me inside. Doesn't take much to keep me inside.
Evening. What a finish to the 49'ers-Seahawks game, the 49'ers winning in the last seconds when they were able to stop the Seahawks from scoring. Worth the time and effort to watch the game, even for someone who's not all that interested anymore in football. Well, mostly not interested. Finished at eight-thirty and so to bed, they're saying it won't be raining in the morning.
