Early
Wednesday I seem to have gotten to sleep early enough. At least I assume that's the case when I only vaguely remember. Awoke at five-forty to listen to the tail end of Rising Up With Sonali and the five minute KPFA news before Democracy Now! started. Vaguely remember some of it. Up at the usual time to walk to breakfast under clear and cold skies, some wisps of fog in the distance, but not enough to have trapped any of the warmth. Sat down at my table on the restaurant patio and started on the papers. Turned out I was the only one to show up to eat outside.
The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee, finishing up just after nine to walk home under a bright sun, still cold, the sidewalks I was thinking with many fewer people than usual, less so walking home than walking to this morning.
Got home, took the selfie, settled in at the computer to mess with yesterday's entry before posting, process today's pictures and start here.
Later. Called the Honda repair shop in the mid-afternoon and explained the problem to be told I'd probably had the catalytic converter stolen. Explained I didn't think that was the case as it would have had to have been stolen when parked in my apartment house garage and there was a second Element owned by another tenant parked there that hadn't been touched. He said bring it by and he'd arrange a drive home. I drove to the dealer repair shop and learned the catalytic converter had indeed been stolen along with some kind of oxygen measurement equipment. Oh.
Talked later with the woman who owns the other Element here in the building and she said her catalytic converter had been stolen from her car on the street and she'd replaced it and then had them install a metal shield to protect it and so maybe that's why her car hadn't been touched. Hard to say. Anotherwise miserable afternoon, I'm afraid.
Evening. Nothing on television again and so to bed early.
