Year

Thursday Another lights out at the usual time to awaken at six-twenty, get up and get out the door walking to breakfast, arriving at the usual time to enter the dining area, turn on the lights and settle in with the papers. The glass that had been broken in the bus stop shelter across from the Grand Lake theater had been cleaned up yesterday and so a picture in passing. They seem to take good care of these shelters.

The single pork chop, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee, the weight still holding on the scale this morning, finishing up after nine to set out again for home taking the mind numbingly same set of flower pictures. It does make the walk home seem to go more quickly than the walk in, although this morning and the last couple of mornings, I've wondered, as I was walking, if I'd make it back to the apartment and into the bathroom on time. Big breakfasts seem to send an urgent message to the alimentary canal.

Took the selfie in the lobby, hurriedly checked the car battery to find it was fully charged and then scooted up to the apartment and the bathroom just in time. Another New Year's Eve morning here in Oakland.

Later. Not overly tired, but didn't write the above until mid-afternoon, lying down and watching more of City On A Hill on the tablet before finishing the morning's pictures and then finally starting here.

Evening. Finished the City On A Hill series this evening. I must admit it was well done and certainly something a little different. Checked out Vera at eight, decided I'd seen it before, didn't need to see it again, and so to bed. Some few fireworks sounding in the distance after nine, but nothing like there's been in prior years and so I guess we're heading to enter another, one hopes better, new year.

The photo up top was taken at a 50th wedding anniversary party a long time ago.
