Again

Wednesday No real problem getting to sleep to then awaken at five-forty, about right having gotten to sleep somewhat early. Listened to the five minute KPFA News before Democracy Now! started at six and got up afterward to set out walking to breakfast under clear skies and a rising sun. The blood pressure had been 123/65 at five forty-five and 121/68 when I got back from breakfast, so we'll put carping about that aside and continue the monitoring.

A good walk under the clear skies to arrive at the restaurant a little earlier than usual, enter the dining area, turn on the lights and settle in at the back of the room to start on the papers.

Finished up early and hurried to the bathroom again before setting out to photograph an increase in gas prices across the street, walking then under a bright sun and relatively warm temperature to take the usual flower and street pictures on the way. Took the selfie in the lobby feeling pretty good, none of the overly tired feeling anyway, and settled in to start on this. No complaints.

Later. Another cookie cutter sort of an afternoon, watching more Britbox episodes of Waking The Dead, an odd (to me) set of characters solving weirdly complex (as in never happen in real life) crimes. My reaction to it teaches me more about me and my hangups than anything about the series.

Been following the Texas power outages, more for what it portends for climate change than the day to day aspects of the outage itself. How far off base will the rapidly heating polar region throw the polar vortex out of balance? If Texas one day, why not California the next? Old guys with nothing better to think about want to know.

Now, now.

Well, otherwise the afternoon has gone well. The head is reasonably clear, although I put off writing this until tomorrow morning after I got home from breakfast. Nothing new in that.

Evening. I'd seen the Midsomer Murders episode that started at eight, nothing else on television that I wanted to watch and so to bed well before nine. As mentioned the blood pressure has been behaving while keeping the dosage constant, so that's been alright. Lights out before ten again.

The photo up top was taken at the 2017 San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
