Before
Saturday. Another lights out night around ten. Not good, as I awoke this time at close to seven. At least that was the thought, more about breaking the target/habit than causing any real problems. So I get to breakfast a little later than usual, leave a little later than usual, not sure that can really be considered an issue.
The single pork chop, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, still coming in a pound under target on the scale this morning. Still have the zoom lens on the small V 1 camera, so more pictures. The lens doesn't nail the focus as well as the fixed 30mm lens, but it gets you closer without being too close and is more comfortable when photographing people.
Saturday, the sun shining, more “I need to get outside today” thinking. I do need to go by an ATM and so, I suspect, I actually will.
Later. A bus to the Broadway ATM and then a quick walk by the apartment house construction site off Grand, as I had fifteen minutes before a return bus would arrive. A few workers in the distance and so a quick group of maybe half a dozen pictures before quickly heading back to the stop and home.
Downloaded the pictures that were taken in scenes of bright sun and shade. OK, my problem. Are all my camera settings right? Is the exposure meter reading at the focus point and not set to balance light in the entire frame? I usually set it for the focus point for the candid portraits, but to what do I have it set for these? No excuses. Some experimentation in how I'm handing the processing in Lightroom and Photoshop too. I guess you forget after a while and find you have to go back and check.
How long have you been taking pictures again?
Just a sign of the times. Most of my photographs aren't taken in bright contrasting light, so we'll repeat the homework required, check the settings, as we've done now too many times.
Later still. For whatever reason the sinus-palate thing kicked into high and so another dose of the meds and a lie down with the tablet to watch this and that for an hour and more until the they'd kicked in and all was (reasonably) well. Nothing on television, but that's the norm for a Saturday. Still, those meds did kick in and all seems well.
Evening. Enough television. They run the “Special Victims Unit” version of Law & Order series on Saturdays and I find the “Special Victims” aspect creepy and so I've skipped watching almost all of them, whether I've seen them or not, and so to bed early to see if we can pick up with something on the tablet again. Seems we did this last night and most of the nights before.
