Sometimes

Wednesday. Asleep at a decent hour to awaken at five minutes to six. Good. Just right. Up to head out to breakfast on an overcast, but dry morning, the temperature not so bad. Passed by a homeless man behaving weirdly on the sidewalk as I approached the restaurant, but no problems developed, although he came into the front of the restaurant later where the owner and her staff shouted him back outside, she mentioning at least two organizations locally had taken out restraining orders against both he and one other similarly aged man who hung out in the neighborhood.

Clearly the poor bastard has psychological issues, evidently loud and disrupting, but not dangerous. He still adds a fight or flight edge to the day should you happen to run into him on the sidewalk.

Ah, well. The avocado and light on the cheese omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit up and coffee for breakfast over the papers, enough of interest to keep me reading until nine. Still overcast when I set out for home, although they're saying rain tonight and especially on Friday when I'll probably be forced to drive. Anyway, home feeling pretty good, another selfie in the lobby before heading up the stairs to post yesterday's run-on entry, the sun arriving at ten-thirty. So good. Maybe go by an ATM later, a useful excuse to get outside.

Later. Out the door at noon to catch the bus to the Broadway ATM, the head clear, none of the vision issues, going by the construction sites on Webster and Valdez to take the usual three pictures (plus one) and then walk briskly home without catching a breath. Just like that. Why feeling so good today? I don't know, but we're not complaining. Bright sun since late morning, the temperature well into the sixties.

Evening. Spent time (what else) for the rest of the afternoon after the news in bed with the tablet, watched the first episode of Midsomer Murders at eight and got far enough into the second episode to find out who done it before bailing during the last minutes at nine-thirty for bed. Tired, didn't want to stay up too late and start tomorrow feeling tired for lack of sleep. We can control our bed times. Most times. Well, sometimes.

The photograph was taken at the Women’s March by the Oakland City Hall with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 Nikkor VR II lens.
