Habits

Monday. Lights out early enough, but then didn't get to sleep until after ten, just wasn't tired enough. Awoke at five-thirty to get up ten minutes before six, take the blood pressure (128/74), take the b.p. med with the rest of the daily meds and set out walking to breakfast dressed for the cold. And it was cold. Arrived to find the restaurant open and people inside and so settled in with the papers.

The two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, pancakes, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, the weight still two and a half pounds under the target on the scale this morning, not that that had anything to do with ordering pancakes. Finished up before nine to walk home and take the usual pictures: another flower in a another planter along the way, two men on bicycles at the 580 Overpass traffic light and Lime scooters on the sidewalk near the lake. A full set of the same old pictures in other words.

Home to take the selfie and then settle in with yesterday's entry to find, after braying I was so clear headed yesterday, the writing was messy and awkward, making me wonder about all these “not tired” proclamations of mine. Ah, well. The day has started well, let's leave it there.

Later. Headed out the door and crossed Grand to the lake, thinking I might walk to the 7-11 look-alike for an ice cream bar. Not particularly hungry for one, but excuse enough to get me out the door. Stood looking down at the lake, turned around and went back home. So much for Monday afternoon madness adventure.

Listened to the news, finished watching Suits, a Netflix Korean series of sixteen one hour episodes that I'd started some time back. Odd damned thing, but it kept my on again, off again, interest through all of those hours.

Evening. Stayed up long enough to check out Father Brown at eight, threw up my hands and went to bed and the tablet, turning the lights and radio off by nine-thirty after listening to the BBC News that started at nine. Not sure why I stay awake to listen to this week night news when I've been listening to so many other news sources throughout the day, but I guess habits are habits.

The photograph was taken at the 2010 Mochi Ceremony at the San Francisco Asian Art Museum with a Nikon D3s mounted with an 70 - 200mm f 2.8 Nikkor VR II lens.
