Morning

Friday I turned the lights out before ten and got to sleep soon after to awaken then briefly at five, blink, then awaken again at just before six to listen to the five minute KPFA news followed by Democracy Now! before getting up to drive to breakfast on an overcast, had been raining and looked like it might start raining again, morning. At least that was the rationalization to drive. It looked like rain throughout my time over breakfast, although it didn't. Parked, fed the meter and entered the dining area to turn on the lights and settle in with the papers.

The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, still watching the weight after receiving a supermarket delivery two days ago and so having been more than tempted to overeat these last two days. The receipt of a Harry & David basket from my sister that was filled with problematic items that called out for my consumption didn't make it any easier. Explaining, you understand, not complaining.

Finished up at nine and walked to the car, taking a snapshot of a small group of flowers in a planter sitting inside the restaurant patio fence before driving straight home to take the selfie and settle in here at the computer. A good night's sleep from the feel of things. It goes up and down, the feeling tired end of the scale dominating.

More walking, less talking.

There's always a catch in this business.

Later. Finished watching a six episode series called The Bay on Britbox, realizing an episode or two into it that I'd probably seen it before, but just barely remembering the occasional image or scene as well as not remembering the usual who, what, where or why of the story line. Probably means I saw it many, many years ago as opposed to seeing in in just the last year or two. The memory is obviously degrading, just hope it survives for however long I may have left to need it.

Evening. Watched the beginning of the Inspector Morse episode that started at eight thinking I'd probably bail, but ended up watching it all the way through. I'd seen it before, the episode where he first meets Inspector Lewis, remembering I hadn't liked it all that much back when, but watched it anyway. Hmm.

Went to bed and finished the last episode of another Britbox series I'd started on the tablet, looked at the clock (10:30) and so turned out the lights wondering how badly I'd screwed up my bedtime schedule. We'll know in the morning.

The photo up top was taken at the 2016 Oakland Chinatown StreetFest with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
