Ten

Tuesday. To sleep fairly quickly to awaken just before six to get up and take the blood pressure (not bad), listen to Democracy Now! back in bed to get up at seven and drive to breakfast, the rationale for driving rather than walking being I needed to get home and prepare to drive to the lab for blood tests by ten-fifteen. Arrived to park by the 7-11 store, enter the restaurant's indoor dining area, turn on the lights and settle in at my table with the papers.

The oatmeal, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing by nine to walk to the car, drive home, take the selfie in the lobby, take the blood pressure (higher this time) and settle in at the computer to download the morning's few pictures, but then break and drive to the lab.

Found a parking space right off the bat and so checked into the lab, but found they hadn't received a request for the metabolic kidney function test and so called the doctor's office, but couldn't get through. The woman who took the blood sample knew me from my monthly visits and so drew a second sample and told me to get through to the doctor's office when I got home and have them send a request by four this afternoon, otherwise she'd have to throw the sample out.

Later. Called the doctor's office again and explained the problem, they said they'd take care of it and send the lab a request for the test. Left a note on the Stanford Healthcare app as well and so hoped for the best, but got a reply saying I didn't need another test and so they hadn't sent in a request. Ah, well.

Otherwise a productive afternoon, canceling the newspaper delivery for February 20th, although the New York Times confirming email looked as if they'd gotten the delivery stop wrong. We'll know in a couple of days. In any case progress.

A call from the lab just after four to say they hadn't heard from the cardiologist's office and they'd have to dump the blood drawn for the metabolic test. Nice of them to do that. The usual time on the tablet watching a movie that wasn't too bad and listening to the various news programs and thus we've had our afternoon.

Evening. To bed by eight, lights out by nine, to sleep not long after ten.
