Sleep

Monday. To sleep early to awaken with the alarm at six-fifteen and so a decent night's sleep. Up on an overcast morning to head out the door and walk to breakfast, the restaurant open and so was able to settle right in with the papers. Looks like we're back in business here in Oakland.

The single pork chop, eggs over medium, country potatoes, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing early. Wasn't wearing the watch, but arrived home to see it was still before nine and for me that's early. The usual set of pictures, two flowers this time, another bicyclist, but not finding any scooters by the lake. Home to take the selfie and then think about heading downtown to get the watch battery replaced.

Later. A bus to the watch repair shop on Broadway near Latham Square to have the battery replaced (along with a seal that had evidently deteriorated), a task of all of five or ten minutes, and then a walk back to the bus stop at 20th where I caught a bus home. Interesting to see how many times I'd found myself looking at the wrist thinking to read the time after the battery failed. I won't say how many times I looked at the dead watch when I was wearing it and assumed, when I did, it was the correct time. Caught myself soon enough, but still....

Spent the rest of the afternoon working on the Portland-Seattle pictures. Still have more to get done.

Evening. I bailed on watching the Norwegian Varg Veum – Yours Until Death episode that started at six. Varg pulled off his “act stupid and get yourself knocked on the head by the bad guy” routine for the last time that I'm going to make an effort to see.

Life will not end.

It never does for Mr. Veum, private detective.

Now to bed early. Tired. Evidently the world is telling me I'd better stack up another decent night's sleep.

The photo up top was taken of the Seattle Space Needle a week ago last Saturday with a Nikon D500 mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
