Night

Wednesday. Arrived yesterday morning too tired to process the pictures taken on the way home and so ended up spending the day in a fog. Many a lie down for a nap without particular success to end up getting to bed early with lights out by ten and to sleep pretty much right after, awakening (sort of awakening) at five forty-five this morning to half listen to Democracy Now! when it started at six, awakening fully by seven and driving first to the Lakeshore ATM, taking another picture of the Black Lives Matter display at Lakeshore and Mandana in passing, and then driving over the hill to breakfast to enter the darkened dining area, turn on the lights and settle in with the papers. So far, so good.

Ordered the plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries (no butter or syrup), fruit cup and coffee, the weight behaving on the scale this morning, to finish up well after nine again to drive straight home, take the selfie in the lobby and settle in here to sort out whatever was necessary after missing yesterday's posting.

What I'm calling “tiredness” generally kicks in, if it kicks in, after getting home and so I'm watching for any sign of it, but so far, so good. Not many pictures to process when I drive and so it's not yet ten and we're wrapping it up for the morning. Thinking of getting the car smog checked later, a real project given what little we've been doing in these shelter-in-place days, so we'll soon know if I actually get off my ass and do it.

Later. Checked the location of local smog-check outfits and there's one right next door to the Walgreens over on Lakeshore and so I've decided to drive to breakfast tomorrow or Friday, but then drive to leave the car to have the smog-check done, walk nearby to the Walgreens and get the second Shingles shot I need to get before this month is over. A two-fer, no buses or too much mingling in crowds involved. Well, minimal mingling.

Feel fine, not tired, but not really doing anything other than watch a series on the tablet, then the news, then more of the same series on the computer this time.

Evening. I seem to like the new Midsomer Murders series better than the earlier ones and so I sat contentedly enough through the two episodes that started at eight. Who ultimately done it wasn't all that important, nice to have it turn out to be reasonably clever, but enjoyed this evening's episodes even with the unbelievable ending. You live, you learn. To bed just after ten this night.

The photo up top was taken at the 2016 San Francisco Carnaval Parade with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
