Art & Life

June 15, 2019

Again

Saturday. Lights out by nine-thirty (pat on the head) to awaken at five-thirty, too early by maybe twenty minutes. Still, up on an overcast and cool morning to walk to breakfast in a long sleeve shirt and light summer jacket, cool yes, but not cold. A good walk to find the planters and plants that have been placed along the railing at the restaurant gone. All but one empty one. Hmm. The restaurant dark, but the dining area door open and so inside to turn on the lights and start on the papers.

Ordered the avocado omelet, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up by a quarter to nine, the day still overcast. No pandorea flowers obviously, but on to take two pictures along the lake and the self portrait in the lobby when I got home.

Posted yesterday's entry and turned on the television to the U.S. Open. Hard to watch, well, impossible to watch golf in any useful way when you're sitting at the computer processing pictures and putting this together, but the day has started and we'll see how it goes.

Later. Watched the U.S. Open with some interest, walked over to the lake under a still overcast sky around three to find clumps of people about, but not nearly as many as you'd find if this were a sunny Saturday. No surprises there. The drummers were set up back from the white column pergola and so a few pictures to then head back to the apartment, the sinus-palate thing going on and feeling a little fuzzy. A good description of the life anymore: a little fuzzy.

Evening. More golf as the afternoon and evening rolled along, ending when heading for bed before eight this time. Little time spent on the tablet and lights out before nine-thirty again.

The photo up top was taken one year ago at the 2018 Oakland Sex Workers Protest with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
