Settling In

Wednesday. OK, lights out by about nine-thirty to awaken at five-forty, pretty close to the norm, I'd say. Up to set out for breakfast on an overcast, but not overly cold morning, arriving before seven and finding the restaurant open.

OK, settle in, order the single pork chop, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast and read the papers. Or at least the sections I find of interest or not familiar with from earlier news broadcasts and web sites. Finished up by eight-thirty, the day still quite overcast, a shot of one of the flowers below the school and another of parked scooters near the lake. Adventuresome we are with our picture taking.

Home to look at yesterday's entry, what there was of it, do some babbling editing and then post, the head fuzzy and tired as it's been since I awoke. Maybe a nap now that this is close to done.

Later. Not much of an afternoon. A walk to the bus stop thinking I'd catch a bus to the City Center for lunch, but the bus didn't come and I'd managed to talk myself out of going before the next one was due to arrive and so back to the apartment. A late morning nap, the trip to the stop, another afternoon nap, a bath and time on the tablet and that's been it for this Wednesday. Felt better later in the afternoon, not unusual, but better is better, so no complaints.

Evening. Watched two episodes of the The Weissensee Saga, In The Abyss and Cold Heart, that started at six. The public television channel that runs these hasn't been running recent episodes as they've been raising money and so I'd missed two or maybe four and so these were taking place ten years later after the Berlin Wall had come down and the Stasi was crumbling, but interesting enough and clear enough to figure out most of what had been happening. Best to avoid living in a country with a Stasi from what they were saying.

A follow on episode of Baantjer Mysteries – The Death On Paper at eight and then to bed before nine to listen to the news and turn the lights out by nine-thirty again. I seem to be filling for all that crappy television I avoided when I was young now that old(er) age is settling in.

The photo up top was taken Monday on Alcatraz island with a Nikon D500 mounted with a 24-120mm f 4.0 VR Nikkor lens.
