Here In Oakland

Art & Life

March 29, 2022

Tablet

Tuesday. Awoke at seven, got up and went downstairs to have cereal, orange juice, coffee and a banana for breakfast, went back upstairs to lie down on the bed, the world wobbly as always these days, clearing up when lying or sitting. We started this lie down and sit routine long before we moved to Oakland.

A first walk on my own before noon to see how it might go, making good progress and taking a short series of pictures of flowers as I passed them by, returning feeling wobbly as ever, but not physically tired. We'll start doing this daily, see if we can't make this walking business a routine.

Later. Still putting the computer system back together, finally getting the speakers to work this afternoon after much effort and experimentation, but so far only two of the external hard drives are connected. I have eight of them, some of them set to Ethernet addresses that are no longer valid since I changed from AT&T to Infinity just before leaving Oakland and now having switched to WiFi here at my sister's. Try this, try that, search the manufacturer's web sites for manuals and instructions. Takes time, particularly when spending so much time flat on my back on the tablet.

The photograph was taken at the San Francisco 2010 Chinese Lunar New Year Parade with a Nikon D3s mounted with a 70 - 200mm f 2.8 Nikkor VRII lens.
