Here In Oakland

Art & Life

March 30, 2022

Tomorrow

Wednesday. The now usual breakfast at seven, Kellogg's Red Berries this time, along with orange juice, coffee and a banana. Not an unusual breakfast, but different than my habit in Oakland. Back upstairs to boot the computer and then lie down to finish watching a Britbox series on the tablet. I'm getting less able to handle all this time I'm spending watching crap on a tablet.

A ten-thirty appointment to have the eyes checked by the Costco ophthalmologist and so out the door at ten to drive to the office located inside their store. Eyes examined, walked to the booth beside it to order the necessary reading glasses before driving straight home, the first time I've driven my car since I arrived a month ago. Sitting down on your bed and breaking your reading glasses because you didn't see them lying there will get you off your duff and out the door to order more. Eventually.

Still sporadically working on unpacking after the move. Most of the boxes of books and the the like have found places on the book shelves, but there's still much to be managed. What to do with crap you'll never use again, no small part of it surprising you that it still existed? When and why did I buy this stuff? Well, up to do this or that and then lying down to rest. Up and down, up and down. My trip for the glasses was effort enough for the day, we'll start again tomorrow.

The photograph was taken at the San Francisco 2010 Chinese Lunar New Year Parade with a Nikon D3s mounted with a 70 - 200mm f 2.8 Nikkor VRII lens.
