Ten

Saturday. A little slow getting to sleep to enter into a somewhat spotty night's sleep, the one thing I remember clearly was being half awake at three-twenty when two series of what sounded like gunshots exploded in the not too far distance, one starting and then a second starting before the first had finished, each rapidly firing perhaps nine shots. Kept me thinking about that as I got back to sleep, remembered it clearly when I awoke at six-fifteen this morning. Who's up at three-twenty firing guns?

Anyway, up to walk to breakfast on another bright sunny morning, the weather people saying a high in the mid-eighties later, the Saturday group of vendors starting to set up their tables and such along the lake, the farmers market doing the same, but no dead bodies showing bullet holes scattered about in the bushes. Best there not be any dead bodies in the bushes.

Arrived to find the patio all set up, but entered the indoor dining area and turned on the lights, all of the diners who arrived later sitting out on the patio. Warm out there on the patio.

Had the two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee again as I couldn't think of anything else I wanted, finishing up by nine to set out for home wondering if it would turn into a race to the bathroom again. It didn't, which is always nice. The usual flower pictures in various degrees of success, judging their focus and lighting keeping me amused, a picture of the people setting up on Embarcadero by the lake and then home to take the selfie in the lobby and settle in here at the computer, the bathroom not even close to calling my name after I'd settled.

Do you need to talk about stuff like that?

Well, I've been using this laxative recommended by the doctor for the upcoming colonoscopy starting last Monday that's supposed to straighten out whatever problems the doctor was thinking I was having and I'm curious. So far not much has happened.

Later. Made it to eighty-one degrees this afternoon at two. Odd to find it a bit cool here inside wearing a sweater and then stick my nose out the door to discover how much warmer it was outside. No complaints. Watched golf starting at noon, lied down an hour later getting in an hour's nap. Actually slept this time catching up on last night. More time on the tablet to fill out the afternoon.

Evening. A story in the East Bay Times on the web saying four people were wounded in a shooting across the lake on Lakeshore Avenue at three-twenty this morning, so I did hear shots and they did come from the lake. The other side of the lake, farther away than I thought from the sound, but at least I wasn't hallucinating.

Watched the first ten minutes or so of The Right Stuff, the Saturday Night Movie on PBS, decided life was too short to stay up too long after eight and so to bed, lights out again before ten.

The photo up top was taken at the 2017 How Weird Street Faire with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
