Sleep
Saturday. To sleep pretty much right away around nine, easier to do when the head is as fogged as it was last night, to awaken at five minutes to six to get up, the head now clear, the blood pressure 119/65, the morning overcast (and so not too cold) and a walk to breakfast with the eyes watering, not so cold or not. Arrived at the usual time somewhat before seven, but the restaurant was dark except for a light back in the kitchen and so through the unlocked dining area door to turn on the lights and settle in with the papers.
Had the single pork chop, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, no need to go through the Impeachment Hearing stories after watching the thing yesterday, but enough to keep me going until a quarter to nine when I finished up and set out for home after documenting the four cent drop in the price of regular just because. A shot of the repainted IKAROS cafe, again just because, and then a shot of a line of ten Lyft scooters under the 580 Overpass. I remembered I'd wondered earlier why they'd been positioned there when walking to breakfast, the school wasn't in session, and then realized they were probably there for the farmers market setting up across Grand, although it took some effort to cross over to this side. Still, nowhere to put them by the market, maybe they're experimenting, see if people use them as this is the first time I've seen them lined up here.
The one Lime scooter was still sitting on the sidewalk by Lake Merritt, a woman was feeding gulls and geese farther on and so home to take the selfie and settle in with the journal, taking some time to finish it up as I'd bailed on it early when the “tiredness” had kicked in. Ah, well. The blood pressure 133/67 when I got home, pretty close to the readings taken earlier mornings at the same time, now a day ahead to at least take a picture of the construction site just up my lane. I've been threatening to take one now for over a week. No excuses as the construction crew won't be present, if that's the reason I've been using to avoid taking a shot. Which I have, of course.
Later. Tired (not yesterday's tired) and so an hour on the bed before getting up to check out a football game on television (didn't matter which one) and then setting out an hour later to take a couple of photos up the way at the construction site. Maybe do it the next time around during the noon hour for better light, maybe find something to stand on so I can see what I was shooting instead of just holding the camera up over the canvas covered fence and hoping for the best. Do it right.
More football through the later afternoon before taking another walk to the lake this time after hearing the drummers going full tilt when I stepped out on the balcony and so snapped a few pictures of the shore, the drummers and people doing whatever before turning around and heading back to the apartment.
Evening. Stayed up long enough to watch the first thirty or forty minutes of Gorillas in the Mist that started on PBS at eight before giving up. Tired and ready for bed. The blood pressure had come in at 134/75. OK, it's been two days: take the blood pressure med, turn out the lights, ready to sleep.
