After
Thursday It seemed it took forever to get to sleep last night, all the while in the middle of it wondering why it was taking so long, awakening then (reasonably bright-eyed) at ten minutes to six to listen to the five minute KPFA news and then Democracy Now! before setting out to walk to breakfast under clear skies and a bright sun, arriving to settle in at my table on the patio and start on the papers. The election seemed pretty much in the same place it had been last night, Biden still on the edge of winning, but just. Who really knows? Not I.
The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee, finishing up not long after nine to set out for home under a bright sun. I'd passed by a plant that had been pulled from a sidewalk planter and thrown on the sidewalk by someone when I walked by it earlier this morning and so took a picture. Unfortunately not the first of these I've seen.
Another series of shots of the usual suspects, the energy seemingly fine, on along the base of the Lakeview school, one or two flowers still in bloom, and so on home.
The selfie in the lobby and then to the computer to see what new election results might have been posted this morning now that it's close to noon on the east coast. Not much seems to have changed and so on to finish yesterday's entry, post and start processing the pictures before bloviating here.
Later. Started recharging the car battery in preparation for having to drive to the Lakeshore ATM on Saturday. Had to start it charging now if it's going to be done in time. A trivial not overly onerous task in the actual doing of it, more a head trip than anything else. Interesting to see, less so to experience.
Otherwise spent the time watching this and that on the tablet (nothing too thrilling on either Netflix or Prime at the moment) and listening to the news. Biden seems confident he's going to turn Pennsylvania and Georgia and I suspect he's right, but it would be much better to see it happen sooner than later to keep the tension in check.
You're tense, are you?
Not to the degree being described for some people in the press, but it's a big deal if we've got any chance of slowing down climate change, handling the pandemic and the rest. So a little “tense”? Yes.
Evening. After all the time it took to get to sleep last night, it seems I am more than tired enough tonight and so to bed after checking out Vera at eight (I'd seen it before, didn't need to see it again), lights out soon after.
