Freedom

Sunday No problem getting to sleep, awakening at six-fifteen to zone out half listening to the last half of CounterSpin followed by TUC Radio. Half listening in the sense I don't really remember much of what they were discussing. Off to walk to breakfast on another cold morning under clear skies, arriving at the usual time to settle in at my table and start on the Sunday papers.

Threw caution to the wind and ordered the two strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee thinking how can two strips of bacon possibly bring on an ocular migraine incident later? Surely it would take at least three strips?

Finished up well after nine to walk home again under a bright sun, skipping taking a picture of the succulent on the restaurant's patio barrier and starting with the first decent exposure of this one farther on along and continuing with the usual crew. Still a few members of the usual crew in place, not sure how long some of them, from the looks of them, are going to last.

A picture of a bicycle rider taking off at the 580 Overpass light, another selfie in the lobby, but running into the apartment house manager this time and asking him to listen to the sound my car was making when I started it. The manifold seal was broken was his judgment, he'd had it happen to him once, which means it will drive alright, just make a horrible noise along the way. We'll take care of it Tuesday.

Posted yesterday's entry after much editing and internal dialogue on how bad it was looking, processed today's pictures and started here. No signs of ocular migraine symptoms, we appear to have dodged them for now.

Later. Watched the last three quarters of the Kansas City - Tampa Bay game with some interest, the old wonderkind Tom Brady versus the new wonderkind Patrick Mahomes, not that I've followed either of them in the news, but again, found it interesting as the commentators opined on the match up. Seems they've met before. Anyway, it took up most of the afternoon.

Evening. Nothing on television or the radio on Sunday evenings and so finished watching The Queen's Gambit on the tablet. Interesting series, although I wouldn't have guessed it was going to be so popular. The last scene, all dressed in white, why that particular image? Freedom?

The photo up top was taken at the 2016 Oakland Chinatown StreetFest with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens..
