Because
Monday. Another seemingly sleepless night. Haven't had one in a while. Seemed to go on forever to finally awaken at five minutes to six, take the blood pressure to find it high (130/67, 127/78, 140/73) and so took the blood pressure med and listened to Democracy Now! report on COP26 (didn't sound good). Got up at the usual time just after seven to get the papers and find two copies of the Chronicle along with the East Bay Times, but no New York Times. Why does this keep happening?
Set out walking to breakfast under sunny skies. Not tired. Actually felt quite a bit better than usual, stepping right out. How much sleep did I get last night? Arrived to sit down at my usual table inside and start on the two papers.
The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, finishing up just after eight-thirty to walk home clear headed and in good spirits, not a bit tired. A little weird knowing I hadn't gotten that much sleep. Will things fall apart later? Are there any rules to this game?
Stepped right up my hill, not a bit tired or wobbly or whatever, entered the lobby, took the selfie and then took the blood pressure again (137/74, 137/77, 137/67) and decided to take second dose of the blood pressure med (why still so high?) and sat down at the computer to start here.
Later. Still not tired. Checked the Xfinity setup again and decided it not connecting to the Internet has something to do with their cable that comes up from the basement, we'll give them a call tomorrow. Otherwise watched more of a series on the tablet and then the various news programs that started at two. Another blood pressure reading just before six (141/72, 163/73, 148/73). This after the two earlier doses of the blood pressure med. Took a double dose, freaking out over that 163/73. Is the meter off?
Evening. Another blood pressure reading at seven-twenty (140/77, 147/74, 141/75), another at nine (155/83, 152/87, 150/78). Feel pretty good, none of the tiredness. Is this because the blood pressure is through the roof? Because the meter isn't reading accurately? Because, because?
